Mesa Bank and East Valley Bank Hold Third Annual Customer Appreciation Day As
Cubs Trounce Mariners, 9-3
MESA and CHANDLER, Ariz. - March 22, 2007 - Mesa Bank and East Valley Bank hosted 42 customers for their Third Annual Customer Appreciation Day at HoHoKam Stadium and for the third year in a row the Chicago Cubs beat their Cactus League rivals.
This year, the Cub beat the Seattle Mariners, 9-3, in the game played March 15.
"We love the Cubs and so do our customers," said the banks' President/CEO Neil Barna, who is also a proud member of the Mesa HoHoKams, the service club that takes care of various HoHoKam Stadium operations.
"It may be a coincidence that the Cubs win every time we host our customers for a spring training game at HoHoKam Stadium, but it is a happy coincidence."
The Customer Appreciation Day was organized by Mesa Bank's Conrad Morin. Also attending the game from the banks were the following officers from both Mesa Bank and East Valley Bank: Jim Barna, Staci Charles, Susan Haverstrom, Rusty Janes, Dan Laux, Rita Leaf, Jim LeCheminant, Jim McCann, Kent Nielson, Teri Singleton and Sandra Zazula.
In addition to Barna, four other members of the banks' Board of Directors are also Mesa HoHoKams - Robert Evans Sr., Stu Hogue, Phil Kellis and Wayne Pomeroy.
The Mesa HoHoKams largest fund-raising project is managing various operations at HoHoKam Stadium. Through their activities at the ballpark, the HoHoKams raised approximately $98,000 last year for local youth and community organizations. At the ballpark, the HoHoKams manage ticket sales, the press box, parking, program production and sales, security, and food service for the press, baseball teams and HoHoKam membership.
