Mesa Bankers Proud to Support YMCA Strong Kids Campaign
Mesa, Arizona: January 20, 2005 - For Neil Barna, Mesa Bank president/CEO, volunteering to work on the Strong Kids Campaign at the Mesa Family YMCA is an annual tradition.
He's been actively involved in YMCA fund-raising since 1982 and this year he's chairing the President's Club Committee, which is responsible for raising $90,000, or 72 percent, of the $125,000 Strong Kids Campaign goal.
"The money will be used to provide youth scholarships for those who cannot afford program fees associated with youth activities at the Mesa Family YMCA," said Barna, who is also a member of the Mesa Family YMCA Board of Directors, having served as board chair in 2002. "This annual fund-raiser is held so that no one will be turned away because of financial hardship."
Joining Barna from Mesa Bank as YMCA fund-raising volunteers are: Rita Leaf, executive vice president and chief credit officer; Sandra Zazula, senior vice president of bank operations; and Steve Mitchell, senior vice president and commercial loan officer. The Strong Kids Campaign kicked off on Jan. 13 and is scheduled to end in mid-February.
Mesa Bank, founded in 1998, has been ranked as the No. 1 community bank in Arizona with assets up to $75 million for the two consecutive years in Ranking Arizona, which each year conducts the largest business opinion poll in the state. Mesa Bank's Falcon Field Office opened in 2003 and is located at 1733 N. Greenfield Road. The bank's main office is located in the Mesa Bank Building, 63 E. Main St. in downtown Mesa.
